a typical day

Late Morning

Our Puppy School Bus arrives at your house. We take your puppy outside to potty, reward with a treat and praise, then put him in a nice, clean, padded crate, which is secured to the vehicle floor.

One of the best things about our pick-up service is that the process automatically trains your dog to love crates, cars, and driving—which come to predict the fun and games of puppy day care.

Midday

Your puppy spends 2 hours in a playgroup that matches his age, size, and temperament. Playtime is interspersed with short stints of quiet time so your puppy learns to settle down.

A certified trainer supervises the playgroup, reinforcing good behavior like sit, recall, and polite greetings, and using praise and time-outs to teach the puppies good social skills.

Late Afternoon

Our Puppy School Bus delivers a tired, happy puppy to your house, making another potty stop outside before settling him into his ‘confinement corner’ in your house. This is a dog-proofed area where your puppy can spend more time than in a crate. It should have a bed, food, water, some toys, and a piddle pad or newspaper.

To make your puppy feel good about alone-time, we recommend you leave his lunch or a frozen stuffed Kong for us to give him when we drop him off.

(Why Not All-Day Day Care?)

An all-day program is too much for puppies. They get over-stimulated, overly tired, and may injure themselves. Excessive exercise can even stunt a puppy’s growth.

By contrast, our program:

  • Helps your puppy develop a healthy routine of play and rest from the outset.
  • Gives your puppy just the right amount of exercise and stimulation.
  • Teaches your puppy that alone-time equals a nice, peaceful nap before Mom and Dad come home—which helps prevent separation anxiety.
  • Offers you the ultimate convenience of our Puppy School Bus service, meaning you don’t have to worry about drop-off or pick-up times and late fees.
