swim coach training - short intensive
[Basic/Introductory Level]
Are you interested in learning about how to work with dogs in the water? Come join Cathy for a two and a half-day intensive introduction to the wonderful world of canine aquatic fitness.
Being a swim coach takes more than guiding a dog into the water. Learn the foundation of balance and intention, combine that with the physical mechanical skills of holding a dog in the water and helping him/her swim, and pepper in the varied personalities of the owners...
See or work with a variety of dogs in the water, such as:
- An older dog who may prefer to be held in a swim coach’s arms
- A young dog who is to keep muscles strong - this session may mean being carried out into the water and treading water with him for a few minutes at a time
- An active sports dog who is in great shape, but swims for cross training - this session might be swimming interspersed with some massage to relax and stretch
